Neil Gaiman wins
Mirrormask is awesome. If you liked any of Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, or Pan's Labyrinth (which this movie seems like it is a combination of; even though Pan's Labyrinth came after), you will also enjoy Mirrormask.

Though I think that Mirrormask is better than the other three.

Mirrormask is one of my favorites, too. I agree with the comparisons, especially to Labyrinth, but it's much more dreamlike than either Labyrinth or Dark Crystal.

If you like Gaiman movies, Stardust is good, too (though much more conventional, and similar to The Princess Bride) but I also like A Short Film About John Bolton. On one level, it's just the setup for a cheap joke, but on another, it's about art and inspiration, and I can't think of anything else that it's like.

I saw Stardust this past summer (I also enjoyed it), and have been reading Neil Gaiman for a while now. I didn't know that Mirrormask was his until I watched the credits roll. But yes, significantly more dreamlike.
